The advantage is, that Jon, the green person, can tell her, that he isn't answering, because he lost his phone. His blonde girlfriend doesn't get it and so she is not mad at him. And also, as far as I know, the messages of the receiver of the messages are always green and the ones of the person to whom belongs the phone are grey.
