But I only use those terms when I'm explaining a colour to someone. Other times I just say, "Blue, yellow, green, pink, orange," etc.

Maybe most guys never colored with the 64 crayon box. maybe they just used the 8 crayon box and thought that was ALL the colors available, so didnt learn all the other names.
Yeah, I have to argue with one of my guy friends over at least 75% of those colors xD (the other 25% I don't even know - -") Though instead of "pink" he refers to it as "salmon"....same goes for his purples too....- -"

As a guy, I know the fully expanded spectrum of names. This may, however, have something to do with the fact that for many years I was the head of a national marketing center's embroidery department. My dad insisted I refer to it by it's other name "Machine Department". lol. ;p
The "Eggplant" is more "Violet". The "Baby" is more "Lilac". The "Gold" is not brown/shaded enough; in fact a better thing would be to switch the "Gold" and "Melon". The "Petroleum" is more "Aqua".
