Vikki Hill -- 06-Sep-2012 12:12:59 pm -- Whoa...some very imaginative minds! Whew! I've wished I could think that fast, to say what I was thinking. Unfortunately, the thoughts always seem to come a bit later! ;-)
I saw 4 Stanley Kubrick films in that list. Anyone who knows anything about Kubrick knows he would reshoot a scene up to 60 times to get it perfect. He wasn't one of those oh well its good enough. This list is a buncha bullshit
The scene with the joker was not improvised. Anyone who owns the bluray can watch the very careful and meticulous scripting of that scene and how Heath practiced it over 12 times to get the look right because they only had one take to get it right. It makes me doubt the other scenes listed here too.
Many of these films are from Stanley Kubrick. I don't believe that the scenes from his film - Full Metal Jacket, Clockwork Oragne, etc.- were unscripted because he was such a perfectionist.
>>> absolutely awesome #1, i totally forgot about that
Yeah, but R. Lee Ermey was a REAL drill sergeant, so it's probably not really all that improvised. He probably had that as a set line no matter what state they came from that he actually used when breaking in recruits.
I'm impressed at the bladerunner one, that's one of my favorite film moments.. with the chill melancholy Vangelis tune in the back. FMJ too.. I never would have thought that was unscripted.
