A truck spilled some 77,000 pounds of Budweiser beer onto a Maryland interstate early Thursday morning, according to WTOP. (Other reports put the figure closer to 50,000 pounds.) Maryland State Police told WJLA-TV/ABC7 that the 18-wheeler overturned on Interstate 270 while "trying to avoid debris on the highway when it rolled over near the Frederick-Montgomery County line around 4 a.m. Thursday." WJLA's photo of the scene shows what appears to be hundreds of cases of beer, pouring from the overturned truck. Part of the highway was closed during the morning commute while the spill was being cleaned up, an effort that was expected to "be extensive," and may take a long time, Source : WTOP and The Associated Press
