you're an idiot, or you've never actually played pool, because that's what happens when you hit it too hard...granted, it's usually on leather pocket tables where the backing is getting a little warped and it bounces straight back off the leather, but still.

Actually this does happen more often that you'd assume. Much of it depends on the construction of the table and how much spin the player puts on the ball
