Beagle Survives Fall From 70-Foot Bridge Beagle avoids traffic before plunge into river in New Jersey Brandi the Beagle became an accidental daredevil this week, showing off some Superdog-esque survival skills. According to the (New Jersey) Courier-Post, the 7-year-old pup survived a 70-foot fall from the Burlington-Bristol Bridge that connects New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The ordeal started when the Beagle went missing during her usual walk at the promenade by the bridge. Police soon joined owners Alexis and Robert Lorenz in their efforts to find Brandi. Bridge officer Rob Bittner saw Brandi on the bridge shortly after the search started and slowly followed her in his squad car. Bittner turned on the car's lights to slow down traffic and protect the dog. During her crossing, Brandi's foot got caught in the bridge's grating and several drivers exited their cars and attempted to secure the Beagle. Frightened by all the new faces and commotion, Brandi backed away, eventually running off the 70-feet-tall bridge. Unfazed by the plunge, she quickly swam to shore after hitting the water.
