Only factory pressed CD's have dimples. The ones that everyone burns on their computers uses a dye that changes when a laser is applied to it. This device would would make recovery almost impossible.
actually, when a cd is burned, it actually makes dimples in the plastic too, so if the dimples are not fixed on the plastic, it's still readable by forensics...this is not a certified way to erase a disc. it' just makes a piece of plastic...
