I'll admit to a bit of vicarious satisfaction on the big kid's behalf, but that's not my ultimate take. THINK, people. The bigger kid's actions were perfectly justified under the circumstances, but nobody should be happy about the outcome. We need to remember that we're talking about CHILDREN here. We can't hold them to the same standard of accountability we would adults. The kid doing the bullying clearly lacks positive male role-models, has poor conflict resolution skills, lacks empathy and is quite probably bullied at home or otherwise poorly raised - hence the need to reclaim his self-esteem by acting out. What he needs is compassion and guidance from an adult he respects, not another beating. The children egging him on could also probably do with a bit of adult intervention. Yes the bully is behaving like a little shit, but unless he's actually a psychopath it's not because he's inherently bad.
