A WOMAN was forced to give birth on a plane with the help of a flight attendant and other passengers when she went into labour mid-air.
First-time mum Katherine Oyedoh was 37 weeks pregnant when her water broke somewhere between Atlanta and Senegal, the Daily Mail reports.
A doctor on board came to her aid and Delta flight attendant Susan Carnes was given the role of assistant.
The flight attendant took a pair of scissors from her galley gear bag, gloves, paper towels, hot towels and shoe strings donated by a passenger to help cut the umbilical chord.
One passenger monitored Mrs Oyedoh's blood pressure, while another sterilised the makeshift medical equipment in vodka and another timed her contractions on his watch.
