In a gravity environment, such as we have everywhere on Earth, this is not possible. The correct force implied by this trick is Centripetal (Inward) Force; Not Centrifical (Outward) force. In zero gravity, Centripetal and Centifical forces are exactly equal. Therefore, under those circumstances, it would be possible. On Earth, or anywhere else with gravity, you would need another counter-measure for gravity. (Such as the cup) If not, Centrifical outward and downward pressure exceeds Centripetal inward pressure.

About the spinning bucket full of water and no water spilling out of it, the force that allows that to happen is called centrifugal force i believe. also inertia has something to do with it.

Hmmm, but as the water is spinning it will act as a centrifuge, pushing water away from the center... not drawing water twards the center. I dont see how this is possable, my dumb ass is still tempted to try.

Just tried it - I thought I was a complete muppet because I got a kitchen floor full of water, but on the 4th attempt, it stayed upright for maybe 3 or 4 seconds! Awesome.

think about it first...Less than a minute ago wow MR. anonymous please dont ever speak to people, you are so narrow minded its sad. that goes for all of you who dont bother to think things through. have you ever thought about how you can spin a bucket of water in a full circle and none comes out? gravity doesnt pull it from the bucket cause the force in which it moves is much stronger. The whole twisting part here caused a cyclone effect, you can se the water spining like crazy in the video. it wont last i tried it and got 2 seconds maybe but it does work i supose if you spin it faster it would last longer. but seriously dont jump off the deep end talking about stuff your to basic to understand lol. hope you dont have kids. Cause you fail.
