http://youtube.com/FashionTV TOKYO - Top Japanese model Ai Tominaga is well known for her charity work. FashionTV catches her collecting money for Japanese earthquake relief. She's also compiled photos of herself with prominent photographers for an exhibition she calls, "I, Tominaga." She developed the exhibition as part of her "Sakura movement" on Twitter. The Sakura, or cherry blossom, blooms in the Spring in Japan and Tominaga wanted to capture the essence of this blossom after the earthquake. "I felt so down because I was seeing all this disastrous news," she said, "But the feeling for Sakura cheered me up." She used the Sakura as a metaphor for the reblossoming of Japan. She began the Sakura movement as a way to cheer people up after the quake. Through her Twitter account, Tominaga encouraged people to upload pictures of sakura and tweet the hashtag #Sakuramovement. She displayed these photos of Sakura in her exhibit as well as photos she took with prominent Japanese photographers like Leslie Kee, Mina Ninagawa, and Tisch. The exhibit is on display at Gyre in Harajuku where FashionTV had an indepth look.
