Right..I just found this site today and I have noticed on nearly every videos comments stupid americans seem to have some superiority complex and instead of just accepting the hard work, persistence and beauty of the great art and skill in the videos I have come across on here (actually 99% produced by people of far east origin) you dumb americans have to point out that there is better in your poxy country. I'm sorry, but your culture is really not very old and most of the world actually dislikes your country and everything you stand for. You do not even have a proper democracy like you believe you are some of the most controlled people and intellectually dumb people in the world. Most of the world actually resides OUTSIDE your stupid country believe it or not, and unfortunately, there always will be things which you will never be good at..(Such as going to war with equal opponents instead of easy strikes and then completely ruining the countries you invade then leaving like you have w
That's a bit harsh. I've just looked up their 4 way cross and it's pretty good. Bear in mind they have instruments (in some cases bass drums) so they have less room to manoeuvre. The Japanese one is faster, but then they're not carrying tubas...
Not bad, but I agree with mdmann. Go watch a good high school marching band or good high school indoor drumline competition...you'll be amazed. Watch the top university marching bands and drumline competitions and you'll be floored compared to this.
While impressive, it would be far more impressive if they did this while playing musical instruments and actually sounding like a cohesive musical group. You should check out some of the things that the top Drum and Bugle Corps groups do. Even the top high school marching bands in the US do drills like this while playing instruments.
This is mass performance of the students of Nippon Sport Science University. They are athletes of some sports and they practiced this as training. They hadn't shown this in public, but they started to show in public in 1970's. This is not basic at japanese school, only that university students do this.
Never having commented before but my god there are some uneducated or clueless people that open their mouths before thinking or speaking.I'll assume they are young and niave. What these incredible peolpe are doing is not only impressive, it is a showing of unity, human precision, engenuity, attention to detail, precision, comoradery, patience, persistence, dedication, pride, passion, acheivement, self worth, loyalty, motivation... to name a few. All very useful life skills and a good use of their time. Some young ones might need to look those up or may never get it. If you are lost for a direction yourself, join the army and make an effort. Use all of your brain.
Sorry kwad8, but you are clueless. Japan's Basic Policy for National Defense stipulates that it effectively has no standing army. In reality, Japan relies on the USA for military support.
These clowns are more like a high school dance team.
Seems like most people here have no clue. What they are doing is Military style Drill and Ceremonies. Most Japanese and Korean schools use it to some degree or another. So this performance is just an extension of that. Most American schools have groups like this. They are called ROTC Drill Teams. Just search drill teams on any search engine. Yes what they are doing takes precision, and discipline and gives them pride.
As far as american education is concerned. It is not as low as we are told. When I was in high school in the US we were always told that Asian and European education is better than ours. However I have seen and been apart of an Asian school system and can say that the Americans bubble is a lot bigger than people think. I do agree most Americans don't know or care about anything outside the US but in Japan and Korea that bubble is much smaller.
You shouldn't insult them for doing this when you have no idea the reason why. For all you know it could
americans.... always stuck in a bubble knowing nothing about the world.... this doesn't mean they don't have a life, it just means that they have enough disipline...they try their best, and won't mess anything up. As for education... The U.S is pretty behind... We're just in our little bubble ignorant about the outside world... This march means more than just walking around the gym... It's their pride, don't stomp on it.
But there is no real sense in doing such a thing. This is mostly the case with school education. It helps for nothing. Don't tell me that theses kids get any better by working around the gymnastic field even if they do it with precision.
If in live you really have nothing better to do, then you can do such a thing.
