I absolutely agree crusier_rider. I have been riding since I was 4, and although I don't even pretend to be able to ride like this guy, I do have bad habits that I may never be able to get over. I have a friend who took the week long course in the area and could probably do pretty close to as good as this guy. He's only been riding for about 2 years now.
I disagree - it would help, but some of the best slow-control riders I know didnt start riding until later in life. Sometimes, its better to train someone how to ride from day 1 rather than trying to overcome a lifetime of bad habits. Its all in the person and rider.
I know an instructor of one of these classes. He's only been riding a few years and is incredible.
actually you can learn to do this fairly quickly if you practice and take a course on it. Its a fairly specific technique that is needed to ride like this, and if you practice it, it can be mastered fairly quickly. The hardest part is getting over the feelig that you are going to dump the bike.
actually you heard the floorboards scrape. Its one of the techniques of this style riding/control. If you dont scrape the floorboards/pegs, you could have turned tighter. They train you to lean the bike until you scrape.
You think it would be better if the cops rode like most of the idiots you see riding? You know, the ones who stick both feet out like training wheels 20 feet before stopping and as they get started. I don't know about you, but most think it's good for cops, service members and the like - know their shit!
Though I do agree the Jap bikes that are trying so hard to look like a Harley are best suited for scrap and hopefully recycled for better uses - like lamp posts or freeway guard rails!
Spoken like a world class moron who can't begin to imagine the purpose of different bikes. I raced until about 6 years ago since I was 13: Motocross in 80/125/250 classes; flat-track on Harley 883's and road courses on a Ducati in the liter-class. Currently, I have a Deuce, a Springer Softail, a Monster, a Hypermotard and a 999. Each has a unique sweet spot no other can come close to matching and anyone who says any specific kind is BEST, doesn't know their ass from the pot hole that will hopefully serve to keep them off the road and out of everyone's way!
Excellent - Two things are certain: First is this guy started riding between ages 9 - 11, maybe earlier. Second, this is the standard that should be required and tested to get a motorcycle license for anything over 125cc - WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMAN! DO YOUR PART TO KEEP MORONS FAR AWAY FROM MOTOR CYLES!
And remember, if you take this this training course you can ride a motorcycle just like that! he forgot to mention that the training course is 3 years :)
Amazing concentration, balance and agility. So what if the foot bars were touching the ground?! I've never seen someone handle a large bike so well. Accolades to the driver.
That was the most amazing thing I have ever seem...I have been riding for 30 years and I doubt I would have been able to complete the course without laying a foot down. Kudos brother, stay safe!
