And HOWEVER, the weight balancement of the girl should be placed forward, ready to respond to the energy of the recoil, her spine looks like it's back, the energy of the recoil even if rifle butt was well in position, would have probably made her fall.
Result: The instructor if a Loser, Perfect Idiot, Pretending to be an expert.

I would shoot the instructor. She should start in a lying position first and also shoulder her weapon and her hold should be such that no one can kick her weapon out of her grip. Completely stupid man.
This was intentionally done by the instructor she probably didn't want to give him what he wants, I was 10 years old and my brother was a soldier in Afghanistan and he let me try his machine gun, I shot twice as he told me what to do with the gun as well as he was kind of holding the gun with me I didn't get hurt at all but enjoyed the shots trough the wall.

Very unfortunate, painful, and totally preventable! I agree with most of the others comments; Epic FAIL by the instructor! We call this a "Scope Check", it happens when the rifle slides off your shoulder during firing, or when your scope isn't adjusted properly causing the shooter to position his face too close to the scope. It usually causes a half circle laceration on the brow ridge, like a cookie cutter, that goes right to the bone and requires several stitches to close. Nice job A**hole! She'll never fire another rifle I'll bet. What a shame,

a) your wrong on the new gun thing... its not so much new calibers and rifles are coming out but as updated versions. and b) they should have shown how to properly shoot it. my ten year old brother has seen enough movies to know how to HOLD a gun, but not to shoot one. and if shown properly no one should get hurt. regardless of the power of the gun

yeah they couldve told her but from the way she held the rifle it seemed to me like she'd fired one before,you cant just assume the people are numbskulls because she hurt herself since youre a firearms expert.(No one really is,new designs and models and calibers are being thought of and built every day).If you let one of your buds fire a powerful handgun and told them it has a kick and to hold it firmly etc etc and they still hurt themselves are you gonna call yourself a numbskull,or the guy for not digging for their testicles?

yah his spell check must be broken, but he is correct in a sense. For any nosebleeds one should lean forward, never back. However, she coped a scope to her forehead, meaning holding her head back was the right start, hopefully they followed up with a bandage and applied pressure to slow the bleeding etc etc etc, then again the instructor was an idiot, so I would gather they probably didn't.

Truly frighting to me the lack of reguard people have for use of dangerous tools such as firearms, cars, skateboards, etc. not caring what the effects are until damage is done.
It would help if she didn't have a moron teaching her how to shoot. First, you always have ear protection. Second, you lean into the shot. Third, you grip the gun tightly. I could go on and on with the fail on this one.
