The Slow Loris is considered an endangered species and not really suitable as a pet. Not only are they illegal to own, but they have sharp teeth and wild-like behaviors.

The slow loris is an endangered primate species from South-East Asia. Partly due to videos on You Tube, the slow loris is a very popular pet both in its native countries and internationally.
Although the videos show a cute, furry animal which seems to enjoy being tickled or playing with an umbrella, the truth is very different. The slow loris trade is not only illegal but also cruel. Teeth are broken off using pliers to prevent the toxic loris bite. Many animals die either during transport or in captivity, while population numbers in the wild are dwindling and the slow loris is on the brink of extinction.

Milo I have to say that I agree with you 100%. People before you buy these cute animals PLEASE STOP AND THINK ABOUT WHERE THEY COME FROM AND HOW THEY ARE BEING SOLD, BECAUSE IT IS WRONG. These animals belong in the wild not as pets.
I agree with you about the fact that in the future the only endangered animals will be domesticated or in captivity and it is very cruel and a big shame, people do not appear to understand just how important it is to have wild animals, trees and plants not just because it is nice to see animals in the wild where the belong, but because it is also important for our lifes our childrens life and the earth to survie.
Cry if you want but in the far off future some of the ONLY endangered animals to exist will be domesticated or in captivity. We're already seeing this happen. Sad but true.

Yes, how cute. But what this clip does not show is the vile and exploitative exotic pet trade that lies behind it. Plese send out the word, particularly to the countries where exotic pets originate: don't buy exotic pets, anywhere, ever. The trade is driving the loris and many other species to extinction. We have plenty of cute and cuddly pets already; puppies and kittens that need a loving home and definitely DO enjoy a tummy tickle. Get one of those instead and leave the loris in th ejungle where it belongs. Please do not support this disgusting trade.
They *had* sharp teeth until someone pulled them out (which is agonizing) and sold them as an exotic "living toy" pet. And no, it probably doesn't enjoy the tickling at all. It doesn't behave the way humans do (for example, if you smile at a chimp, it will think you are being aggressive by showing your teeth). The slow loris's instinctive behavior is to act submissive when confronted. It is stressed and just wants the tickling to stop, but its clueless captors think it's acting the way a little kid would and just wants more, more! Sound like fun to be one of these kept as a pet? This is ridiculous and abusive.
Another example of clueless people indulging their excesses at the expense of a helpless (and in this case endangered) animal. I would love to to have seen your living 'teddy bear' go all into a finger eating ninja on you. --- Need a pedicure lady?
